Basic stages of the work

• Investigation of toxic effects of ultra low doses of some compounds and physical factors with the purpose of prediction of their pathogenic effects on human body and confirmation of the hypothesis of their important role in the mechanisms of their destructive effect on human body
• Analysis of the observed pathophysiological effects in order to develop therapeutic mixtures
• Development of a protective-preventive complex of biologically active additions for therapy and enhancement of human body resistance

Summary of the research

• A model of pathogenesis of the effects of toxic compounds in combination with a set of other biological or physical factors was proposed
• The cornerstone of model proposed is a conflict between the host and parts of indigenous microflora that is initiated by a toxic agent
• Depending on the scale of the conflict and the cell systems involved, different clinical signs may follow such as disbacteriosis, functional dysfunction of respiratory and intestinal tract, secondary local immunodeficiency, etc.
• The dysbacteriosis is characterized by the release into internal organs many toxins, low-molecular metabolites and other toxic compounds. The Syndrome is culminated by profound injuries in different internal organs: liver, brain, lungs and, to a smaller degree, spleen, kidneys, bowels.
• As a result of described processes the body is driven to its borderline state in which the clear pathology is absent, but there is a definite abnormality making the body readily susceptible to further hazardous environmental challenges.

Practical results
From aforesaid it follows that strategy in protection/prevention should be to:

• Decrease the amount of alienated microflora
• Increase the resistance of epithelia by increasing the capacity for bacterial colonization and decrease its permeability to pathogenic bacteria
• Increase the resistance of internal organs, primarily liver, brain, bowels, lungs

There are many practical consequences of these phenomena. So, components, function and testing of the protective-preventive complex (PPC) of biological active licenced additions which contains more then 30 components will be considered. Experimental techniques for testing therapeutic effect and application of PPC will be discussed. In conclusions future research and commercial perspectives will be presented.
