Today it is universally recognized that ecological environment and the person’s way of life influence significantly the health forming. Hypokinesia, water and food quality, smoking, alcohol and drugs intake are accompanied by phenotypological adaptation and gene mutation in renewed generations of cells and tissues that leads to the rise of chronic somatic diseases of organs and systems. The latent period of such diseases can last during 10-20 years.

The criteria of somatic health are functional (adaptive) reserves of cardio-vascular, respiratory, neuromuscular, endocrine, immune and other systems that is guarantee of good health and comfortable well-being of a person.

In the basis of the scientific conception and technology “Health Navigator” developed in SSC RF IBMP RAS there is the idea that a modern man at different stages of his life to preserve good well-being, reliable protection from somatic diseases and traumas, to possess high work capability till the pensioner age should keep his organism in optimal physiological and morphological state.

“Health Navigator” technology consists of four structural-functional blocs: methodologies of complex non-invasive examination; age models of somatic health on the basis of 20 psychophysical characteristics and integral assessment at the stages from 6 to 60 years old; computer program “Passport of physical health” for the processing and handing over of the results to the patients, physicians, public health managers; standard models of sanitary-developing programs for the people of different age, sex, level of somatic health and reserves of functional systems of the organism.

Available to all “Health Navigator” technology is meant for the use in local polyclinics, medical cabinets of schools, universities, industrial enterprises for periodic control of somatic health, increase of medical-hygienic knowledge of the population and forming of high personal and public culture of health and healthy way of life. The technology can play a definite positive role in the sphere of sanatorium-and-spa making the population healthy.

During five years “Health Navigator” technology has been approved in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and a series of other regions of the country receiving positive evaluation among specialists. In 2006 this technology was included in the National register and recommended for use in medical practice.

During the scale implementation of “health Navigator” technology public health managers will get at their disposal the unique data basis about the state of somatic health of population with the possibilities of multi-planned analysis of any (age, territorial) groups, with determination of the number of persons with the signs of functional deficiency according to the organism’s systems and risk factors of the diseases on the class of somatic diseases and trauma-susceptibility. It creates qualitatively new informative conditions for the forecast of the population state of health with the perspective of 5-10 years and planning of purposeful sanitary-prophylactic activities in the region.

A the present time in IВMP the development of a new version of “Health Navigator” technology is being conducted with the inclusion of modern methods of invasive diagnostics and somatic health correction (metabolic and immunological status, genotypology) that will open a qualitatively new stage for insurance medicine.
