Ozonotherapy has been successfully practiced in the Sanatorium “Barnaulsky” for rehabilitation of gynecology patients for 2,5 years. There were 182 women of all age groups.

Ozonotherapy occupies the leading place in the treatment of chronic infection of different localizations and etiology. This includes urogenital infections inducing vulvovaginitis, menstrual irregularities and pathologies of the uterine cervix, miscarriages, infertility, specific vaginitis of pre- and postmenopausal periods and discomfort in sexual spheres.

Special attention is paid to pregnant women since ozonotherapy is more preferable as a medicamentous therapy. It is used for prevention of fetoplacental insufficiency, gestosis, intrauterine growth retardation (IGT), intrauterine developmental defect (IDD) as well as treatment of diabetes in pregnant women and sanation of chronic focal infection.

Complex non-medicamentous treatment enables to mobilize a compensatory-adaptation reaction in mother and fetus, preventing disorders of uteroplacental blood flow and morphological pathologies in the placenta.

Ozonotherapy was effectively applied for treatment of bacterial infections (clamydia, ureoplasma, mycoplasma, gardnerela, Candida) and viral infections (herpes simplex virus (HSV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), human papillomavirus (MPV), which often attribute for miscarriages. These patients were treated with intravenous infusion of ozonized physiological solutions and local treatment with ozonized oil tampons.

As pre-gravidar preparation ozonetherapy is a new effective and irreplaceable method.

We observed positive results for the treatment of pelvic and vaginal pains in endometriosis as a complex treatment (local ozone blockades, sprinkling and oil ozonized tampons).

Ozonotherapy provides multifaceted actions: anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, antiviral, immunomodulating, antihypoxic, analgetic, improving tissue trophism. All this is necessary for solving the pre- and postmenopausal problems such as athrofic vaginitis. Estrogen deficiency causes reduction of barrier function of vagina epithelium and is accompanied with frequent occurrence of vaginal infections induced by autoflora.

In the sanatorium 67 women with this pathology were treated. The degree of clinic al manifestations was assessed on microbiological test of vaginal smear, Bochman index of vaginal health in points. The degree of atrophic vaginitis was estimated on karyopyonetical index in percent and estimation of the general condition – on Kupperman menopausal index modified by E.V.Uvarova. The efficiency studies were conducted with a 1-3-6-month interval.

The findings displayed the advantage of osonotherapy comparing to medicamentous therapy (improvement of neutrophil phagocytic activity, tissue trophism, reduction of recurrencies, 100% tolerance, no allergic reactions and dispepsic disorders).

Ozonotherapy optimizes the impact of medications that leads to decrease of doses and shortening of the treatment course.

For us the ozonetherapy is priority treatment both as a monotherapy and as a combination with physiotherapy methods.
