The treatment of the fibrocystic disease is a difficult problem of contemporary mammology.

In most cases the traditional schemes of the fibrocystic disease treatment are complex. They include intake of vitamins, adaptogenes, phytotherapy. There are some difficulties in using such therapy schemes in psychological and organization aspects.

We used for the fibrocystic disease treatment “Bereginya” phytocomplex elaborated in the Laboratory of Lymphotrophic Therapy of Institute of Clinical and Experimental Lymphology of Siberian branch of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.

28 patients with clinical and ultrasonic diagnosis “fibrocystic disease” aged from 23 to 54 years old were examined. The average age of the patients was 41 years.

The glandular form of fibrocystic disease (hyperplasia of the glandular tissue) was diagnosed in 4 patients (23, 28, 31 and 34 years old). A subjective improvement in the emotional condition in this group was observed in 100%. The objective reduction of the glandular layer thickness was noted in 3 cases.

The fibrous form of fibrocystic disease was found in 3 patients. After a special treatment with phytocomplex “Bereginya” the extent of the presence of fibrous component in breast have been reduced in 2 patients.

The cystic form of the disease was detected in 5 patients. The reduction of the small cysts was found in 100% cases. Solitary cysts were reduced in size in 7 from 9 cases (alongside with a mixed type of fibrocystic disease). In 2 patients a full obliteration of solitary cysts with initial size up to 15 mm in diameter was observed. In 2 cases no changes of size and structure of the solitary cysts after treatment were reported.

The mixed type of fibrocystic disease was diagnosed in 16 patients. The subjective improvement of the patient’s emotional state in this group was noted in 13 cases. The objective reduction of the extent of the expression of echographic signs were found in 14 cases (even in situations with absence of subjective complaints).

The data revealed in our investigation demonstrate that use of phytocomplex “Bereginya” is effective in all forms of fibrocystic disease and could be recommended for the complex treatment of the benign disease of the breast.
