HETEROGENEITY OF LUPUS ANTICOAGULANTS AND THE RISK OF THROMBOSIS IS THERE ANY CORRELATION? |
| Altay Department of Hematologic Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Altay State Medical University, Barnaul, Russia |
The methods of LA investigation based on defining of the time of blood clotting in four standard phospholipids-dependent tests such as kaolin clotting time (KCT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), dilute protrombin time (dPT) and dilute Rassell’s viper venom time (DRVVT) were used in our research.
Besides, in all cases the time of blood clotting (dilute eshis multisquamatus venom time (DEMVT)) in the phospholipids-independent test was defined. Certainly, mixing and correction tests were conducted.
The number of examined patients constitutes 284 patients (SLE – 146 patients, RA – 19 patients, primary immune thrombocytopenia – 15 patients, women who have recurrent fetal loss – 62, patients with unexplained
So LA are heterogeneous according to their functional features and can be subdivided into four types according to their ability to prolong phospholipids-dependent and phospholipids-independent clotting tests. Besides LA of the 1 and 2 types do not have any considerable trombogenicity while LAof the 3 and 4 types can be characterized as having a high level of trombogenicity.
