Deterioration of ecological conditions leads to “pollution” of the intercellular microhabitat, insufficiency of drainage-detoxication processes in lymphatic regions that leads finally to an aggravation of the majority of chronic diseases and to deterioration of the general life quality. In the Institute of clinical and experimental lymphology, SB of the Russian Academy of Medical Science, a new scientific direction – preventive lymphology develops actively. This direction studies mechanisms of action of resort, natural and physical factors on functional activity of lymphatic system. In this section of lymphology we use actively the methods of traditional therapy entering into concept of natural and regenerative medicine.

In the process of development of preventive lymphology in our Institute the concept of lymph-sanation – sanitation (clarification) of intercellular space, activation of lymph-drainage mechanism in the tissues has been introduced. In the frameworks of lymph-sanation we allocate three types of inﬂuence of lymphatic system: 1. Lymph-stimulation – stimulation of the lymph drainage; 2. Lymph-protection – detoxication of intercellular space; 3. Lymph-correction – restoration of structure and function of the cells.

For the purpose of studying of lymph-sanation mechanisms, knockings over endogenous intoxication in various pathological processes we carried out investigation of various natural and physical factors of non-medicamentous inﬂuence on an organism – herbs (bioﬂavonoids), products of the animal origin (pantohematogen, caviar of sea hedgehogs), electromagnetic radiation (light, infra-red, noise range), sorbents (synthetic and natural) etc. The main goal of researches is to reveal lymph-stimulating, lymph-protecting and lymph-improving properties of curative factors.

In parallel with fundamental experimental researches in the Institute during last decade the work on introduction to practical public health services of new original means and methods of preventive and regenerative medicine, preventive lymphology and balanced diet was conducted. The program of improving actions of lymph-sanation and detoxication is developed. The main goal of the Program is improvement of an organism by the means of sanitation (“clarification”) of intercellular space and of the regional lymphatic structures (lymphatic region), stimulating processes of natural lymph-detoxication against endo - (ecso-) toxicosis.
