APPLICATION OF «DENAS-VERTEBRA» DEVICE IN PATIENTS WITH BACKBONE DISEASES
Ural State Medical Academy, DENAS MS Corporation, Yekaterinburg, Russia

According to various researchers in the majority of industrialized countries the number of degenerate-dystrophic diseases of a backbone is steady increased. The frequency of such diseases among the whole population makes 12-45% and among brainwork persons reaches 80%. It is remarkable that the average age of the beginning of these diseases has decreased to 27-30 years for last 20 years.

Recently the various versions of basic drug therapy of backbone diseases according to pain intensity and patient’s quality of life are approved. But in the same time it is known that drug therapy has positive but rather temporary effect that defines prolonged period of treatment and significant treatment expenses.

Figure 2. VAS at walking in patients with back pain and after DENS before and after DENS

Wide prevalence and the social importance of backbone diseases, insufficient efficiency and side effects of drug therapy and surgical treatment does actual application of «DENAS-Vertebra» device which action is based on dynamic electroneurostimulation (DENS). The parameters of electric impulses change depending on skin impedance in subelectrode zone.

Efficiency of «DENAS-Vertebra» device application in patients with backbone diseases was proved in the research in which 58 patients in the age of 30-56 years took part.

The main and control groups included 36 and 22 accordingly. Alongside with basic drug therapy to patients of main group the procedures of DENS by «DENAS-Vertebra» device were carried out. Course duration was 10-12 procedures.

Assessment of pain syndrome expressiveness at the moment of inclusion to the research and after the treatment course was spent by visually-analog scale (VAS) in cm.

After the course of DENS procedures in patients of main group the pain intensity defined both as by VAS of rest and by VAS at walking was more significant reduced in comparison to patients of control group (fig.1,2). Pain decreasing after «DENAS-Vertebra» device application has allowed canceling completely analgesic drug therapy at 30 % of patients.

Thus dynamic electroneurostimulation by «DENAS-Vertebra» device may be effectively used in patients with backbone diseases both as monotherapy and in complex regenerative treatment.
